Not really, given my skill level with Scratch. The real challenge was coming up with NG characters, references and stuff that were within 4-7 letters each. SPOILER: There were many that didn't.

There are only 2 things that result in a game over. 1) If you are too close to exploding TNT, or 2) if you overlap any solid part of the terrain for too long.
